Coaching Consultant - Péter Fröhlich |
 |
Péter Fröhlich led the TFC Performance Programme between 2009 and 2012, and now works for the club as a perfromance coaching consultant.
He is a Hungarian master and one of the world’s most respected sabre coaches. As well as GB Olympic Sabre Coach in 1992, 1996, 2000 & 2008, Peter was the national coach of Hungary in the 1980s, and has coached many World and Olympic medallists. Himself a successful fencer, Peter represented Hungary internationally and reached the final of the World Championships. |

Lead Sabre Coach - Chris Buxton |
 |
Three-times GB sabre champion and former Olympic pathway athlete, Chris is Lead Sabre Coach for Truro Fencing Club. After relocating to Truro four years ago, Chris works on the development of the club’s youth and cadet sabre squad. Along with Jon, Chris established the TFC Youth Performance Program, and has already produced international cadet finalists. Chris has coached the GB youth team at World and European Championships.

Lead Foil Coach - Paul Caine |
 |
Lead Foil Coach at Truro Fencing Club, Paul is producing exciting young fencers who have broken into the GB squad, and this season have qualified for European and World Youth Championships. As well as excellent technical fencing skills, Paul brings a wide knowledge of S&C training, and leads many of Truro Fencing Club’s conditioning sessions.

Sabre Coach - Balazs Kurucz |

Balazs is an experienced and highly qualified sabre coach, who joined Truro in Autumn 2012. Balazs has produced many top fencers including a Senior World Cup medallist and Junior World Championship Gold Medallist. Although based for much of his career in Godollo, Hungary, Balazs has also trained the national squads of Mexico and Singapore. In Truro Balazs works at all levels, from participation and talent ID in schools, to talent development and performance level in Truro Fencing Club and its elite program.

Assistant Coach - Mike (Mikey) Rogers |

A former youth international and experienced Coach, Mike Rogers is a full-time professional coach and is the club's lead community and schools coach. Mike also organises training camps and competitions for Truro Fencing Club and the Fence Cornwall Project.

Lead Epee Coach - Kenichi Yamamoto |
 |
Kenichi is a former top international epeeist and World Cup finalist.
A coaching graduate of the Semmelweiss University in Hungary, Kenichi trained and coached in Hungary for 10 years before relocating to Truro in 2011. Also an accomplished wheelchair coach, Kenichi was Japanese national coach for the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games, and is GB Cadet epee coach at the 2013 World and European Youth Championships.

Lead Coach - Beginners and Minifence - Maxine McCombie |
 |
A qualified coach and successful fencer, Maxine has fenced sabre at World Cup and Grand Prix level for Great Britain. A personal chef by profession, Maxine coaches Beginners Course and 5-7 year olds in the mini fence sessions, and is a patient and communicative teacher.

Sports scientist, and performance consultant for the TFC Performance and Youth Performance Programs, Jon Rhodes sets and leads all the Strength and Conditioning training of the clubs elite fencers. With wide experience at professional level n many sports, Jon works with the TFC coaches to periodise the athletes training programs.

Retired Head Coach - Richard Bonehill |

Head Coach at Truro for 10 years, Richard Bonehill was named Cornwall Sports Coach of the Year 2006, and retired in September 2007 to concentrate on his own training and competing at World Veteran level. In 2010 he realised his life long ambition when he became World Sabre Champion. Along with his protégé, Jon Salfield, Richard has masterminded many major projects including the Duel on the Beach, the Cornwall Pro Sabre, TFC Gold and more.
Richard is a British Fencing coach educator and assessor and a wheelchair fencing coach qualified by The British Disabled Fencing Association. |
