Truro Fencing club – Youth Awards Scheme
Passing the beginner’s course earns the TFC Bronze award, this is a skills award and is closely matched to the BFA level 1 award.
When a fencer enters their first LPJS competition they earn the TFC Silver award, this is a performance award.
When a fencer achieves a L8 place in any LPJS competition with over 15 entrants they earn the TFC gold award – another performance award but one that is necessarily underpinned by competitive skill.
Beyond this our fencers are mainly involved in further competition and can go on to measure success by scoring points in Leon Paul Junior Series competitions, cadet and Junior ranking points and maybe even being selected to represent the South West or Great Britain.
3 of our fencers were recently awarded their Silver whilst competing at the Bath LPJS Sabre event, see them below, certificates presented by Head Coach Jon Salfield and Lead Sabre Coach Chris Buxton.
